“I learned to give not because I have much, but because I know exactly how it feels to have nothing.”
My name is Krystal Becerra; I grew up in a single-parent home. To some, that may seem like a disadvantage and to some extent that may be, but watching my mother give her all to raise my brother and I made me the strong, confident person I am today. I grew up appreciating everything that was given to me, not only material possessions but also advice and opportunities. My life experiences taught me to recognize and appreciate the true value of even the smallest act of kindness. My siblings are my heroes, always there when I need them. My family and close ones keep me going. I have found the person that completes me; he has the sweetest heart and motivates me to be a better person. Graduated twice at the age of eighteen and haven’t stopped working since.
“Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”
– [Luke 6:31].
I love to help others, I especially love helping in silence. I have volunteered in afterschool programs both on and off school grounds. I love children and the way they view the world, with open eyes full of wonder and excitement to discover new things. I hope to always keep that sense of curiosity, and continue to expand my knowledge of anything and everything.
